Medical Examples

Compartment Syndrome

This detailed animation shows a Cross Section of a forearm and the symptoms of Compartment Syndrome.

The example shows Loss of Perfusion (blood flow) and the resulting Necrosis.

A scalpel opens the "Compartments" at the end of the animation, slicing from the elbow to the wrist.

Medical Example of Hip Replacement Procedure

Recreating medical procedures is a common type of forensic animation. The procedure can be shown as the ideal methodology or as an example of a operation gone wrong.

In this example the fractured femoral head is removed and the artificial hip replacement is implanted.

Animations of this nature allow the communication of the procedure without the blood and gore of actual video footage.

Procedure to relieve a Sub-Dural Hematoma

NEW: This animation was used in a national broadcast of the tragic story of Natasha Richardson. Ms. Richardson suffered a similar injury. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

Subdural Hematoma is where the individual has sustained an injury to the head. Blood can gather causing pressure on the brain, and result in permanent injury and death (as it was in this case).

Sectional views of the area of a victims physiology can go a long way to communicate the severity of the injury.
